Hydrogeology

Dr. Romeo M. Luis is a graduate of the University of London in 1972, earning a PhD degree in Hydrogeology. It is also in this same university that he finished his Master of Science in Hydrogeology in 1967. He received his diploma in Applied Geology from the University of the Philippines and his Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology. At the Mapua, he was a consistent scholar and was a gold medalist when he graduated. In 2000, he was awarded as the Most Outstanding Mapuan in the Field of Geology.

Dr. Luis is currently the President of CALCS, Inc., a position he has held since 1996. This company is an engineering consultancy company engaged in water resources, supply and feasibility studies, environmental impact assessment, and ground water exploration, including geo-resistivity surveys. He is also the Vice-President of the Golden Fields Property Management Corporation.

He is married to the former Juliet Cinafranca from Dumaguete City, whom he met while he was studying in London. He excels in his field of expertise and by his achievements has contributed to the advancement and betterment of her chosen profession. His achievements are testaments to our Alma Mater’s proud tradition of academic excellence and reinforce its exalted position as an eminent educational institution not only in the Philippines but also throughout the world.
